Load calculation
We verify your panel can support a Level 2 charger before any equipment is ordered.
Kaimana Energy · EV
A clean, safe, fast home charger — sized to your car and your electrical panel.
Overview
Charging at home is the easiest way to own an EV on Maui, but a charger is only as good as the wiring and panel behind it. Kaimana installs Level 2 home chargers — Tesla Wall Connector and universal J1772 / NACS units — with the load calculation and panel work done properly the first time.
We look at your panel capacity before we quote. If your service can support a charger as-is, we keep it simple. If it needs a subpanel or an upgrade, we plan it so your charger is ready for today’s car and the next one.
What an EV charger install includes
We verify your panel can support a Level 2 charger before any equipment is ordered.
Tesla Wall Connector or universal Level 2 units — whatever fits your vehicle and future plans.
Neat conduit from panel to charger, indoor or outdoor rated, routed to look intentional.
New breaker, subpanel, or capacity planning where the existing service needs support.
County permit pulled and inspection passed so the install is code-compliant and safe.
We confirm charge rate and walk you through the app and settings.
The difference
Wake up full every morning instead of hunting for public chargers around the island.
Proper load calc and permitting mean no overloaded panel and no fire risk.
We plan capacity so a second EV or a bigger charger is an easy add later.
Serving all of Maui
Common questions
Most can, but it depends on your panel’s spare capacity and existing loads. We run a load calculation first. If your panel is tight, we will show you the options — from a dedicated circuit to a panel upgrade — before you commit.
We install Tesla Wall Connectors and universal Level 2 chargers (J1772 / NACS). If you have a preferred brand, we will work with it as long as it is safe and reputable.
Yes, a hard-wired Level 2 charger requires a county permit and inspection. We handle that for you as part of the installation.
