Overview

Whole-home energy systems on Maui.

A modern Maui home has a lot of moving parts — solar, batteries, EV charging, a smart panel, automation. Bought separately, they rarely work as one. Kaimana Energy designs them together from the start so the whole home is efficient, resilient, and genuinely simple to live with.

This is the right conversation to have early, ideally before the walls close on a new build or renovation. When energy and control are architected as one system, the finished home is more capable, better looking, and far less expensive to get right.

What a whole-home system includes

Solar generation

Rooftop solar sized to your real usage and Maui’s exceptional sun.

Battery storage

Powerwall or battery backup so essential circuits ride through outages.

Smart electrical panel

Circuit-level monitoring and control from your phone, and clean load management.

EV charging

Level 2 charging integrated into the system and its energy management.

Automation & comfort

Lighting, shades, and climate coordinated with the energy system.

One design conversation

Everything planned together with your architect and builder — not five separate vendors.

Why it matters.

The difference

01

One coherent system

Every layer talks to the others, so the home manages energy on its own.

02

Resilient by design

Solar plus storage keeps the essentials on when the grid fails.

03

Planned once, done right

Coordinating early avoids costly rework and mismatched equipment later.

Common questions

When should I plan a whole-home energy system?

As early as possible. For a new build or major renovation, the ideal time is during design, before walls close. But we also retrofit existing homes in stages — the key is a plan that ties the pieces together instead of bolting on products one at a time.

Do you work with my architect and builder?

Yes. Coordinating with your architect, builder, and other trades is central to how we work, so the energy and automation become part of the architecture rather than an afterthought.

Can I build the system in phases?

Absolutely. We can design the full system and install it in stages — starting with, say, solar and a battery-ready panel — so you can add storage, charging, or automation as budget and timing allow.
